Dear Mrs. King:
The 118 members of the Bay Village Garden Club of Ohio wish to express their
sincere appreciation for the $3,000.00 grant. Your desire to foster
historic garden projects in conjunction with the National Garden Clubs
encouraged the development of existing and future sites. The program
motivated over 400 garden clubs.
Your grant eneables us to make a major contribution to the beautification of our
city. Our plan is to palce an 11 foot high corten steel sculpture of the
city logo--a sailboat--in historic Cahoon Park bordering Lake Erie.
Miscanthus purpauscens, "Flame Grass", Pennisetum alopecuroides, "Little Buny",
Heavy Metal", Festuca glauca, "Elijah Blue", Pennisetum alopecuroides,
"Hamelin", and Zebrinus, "Zebra Grasswill simulate the wave movement of the lake
itself. The accompnaying plauqe will, of course, recognice your financial
assistance.
We will forward publicity concerning our Seascape project to you.
Most sincerely,
Nannette Smith
President of Bay Village Garden Club
